20 injured in Nigeria's bank explosion: police

The police in Nigeria have confirmed that 20 persons were injured, two of them in critical conditions, in a gas explosion at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the southern city of Calabar on Friday.
The explosion was caused by gas cylinders in the bank, Henry Fadairo, the state police chief told reporters in the Cross Rivers State capital.
Fadairo said the explosion, which caused panic in the city, was not a bomb blast as speculated.
According to him, the team of experts handling the situation confirmed that 18 persons were injured while two others are in a critical situation.
Fadairo added the police, the navy, the army and the civil defense were on ground to help bring the situation under control.
