Number Of People Working Christmas Day Revealed

Christmas working footage 22/12/15It will be business as usual for hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers, chefs, cleaners and police officers, figures show.
Are you working on Christmas Day? If so, you're not alone - and according to the latest figures, more people will be toiling away on 25 December than you think.
Research by the TUC suggests that 900,000 Britons will be hard at work while the rest enjoy a break.
Unsurprisingly, many of those are care workers - 168,000 will be clocking in for a shift.
It is also set to be business as usual in the NHS, with 89,000 nurses, 46,000 nursing assistants and 17,000 doctors on the wards.
Estimates indicate that there will be 22,000 police officers on duty too, along with 28,000 security guards.
For those of us who lack the talent or motivation to cook at home, there will be 42,000 chefs, 15,000 waiters and 13,000 bar staff on hand to keep us fed and watered across the UK.
And as it is a religious holiday after all, there will be 20,000 members of the clergy leading services.
It seems employees in the North East of England have the greatest chance of being called in on Christmas Day - with one in 28 workers set to be on duty.
Those in London are least likely to be at work, with just one in 47 pencilled in for a shift.
Frances O'Grady, general secretary of the TUC, has urged Britons to take a moment and remember those who will be keeping services running on Friday.
She said: "Christmas Day is a special day that millions of us spend with our nearest and dearest.
"So we should all spare a thought for the people who will be hard at work while we're opening our presents, tucking into the turkey and relaxing with our families.
"Many on duty on Christmas Day will be on low pay, especially in sectors like hospitality and social care."
